Grantec was pleased to be advised by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) that the Sequoia Fine-Resolution Fermi Chopper Spectrometer Instrument at Spallation Neutron Source (SNS), Oak Ridge, Tennessee was started on Oct 7, 2008. Grantec performed the design and analysis for the Sequoia Detector vessel, the specialized vacuum chamber that houses the detector array for the Sequoia instrument. Grantec also recently performed the PC-3 seismic analysis for the detector vessel. The Sequoia Detector vessel is considered to be one of the largest vacuum chambers ever built in North America. The Spallation Neutron Source at ORNL is the most intense neutron source in the world. |
